Shape Me, Change Me, Anyway You Want Me

When Microsoft announced the Xbox One Elite Controller back at E3, fans erupted into a chorus of cheers and applause. With completely re-mappable controls, replaceable analog sticks, removable back paddles, two switchable pre-sets and premium parts, the Xbox Elite Controller looked like a dream for pro gamers. However, it seems to have struck a chord with hobbyist players, too.

To whet players appetites, and to showcase the unbelievable amount of customisation on offer, Microsoft has released a new video showcasing the Xbox Accessory app. The options to tinker, tune and toy with almost every element of the controller is staggering. You can adjust the sensitivity of the analog sticks, increase or decrease rumble strength, and even brighten or dim the Xbox One guide button. Needless to say, there’s a combination to suit every player no matter how bespoke or complex.

The controller will also receive a selection of pre-made settings tuned by developers. For example, developer 343 Industries will have a custom control scheme for Halo 5: Guardians.

Those of us with a standard Xbox One controller (note: that’s basically everyone) will be able to benefit from controller remapping in the future, so we’re not completely left out in the cold.

Thankfully the wait is almost over as the controller ships on October 27 in the UK for a slightly eye-watering £129.99.

If you’re in the mood to take your gaming to the next level, you can pre-order the Xbox One Elite Controller from Amazon.
