Belly bouncer.

Aha, it looks like we have a new visitor! Please, take a seat and allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Shu, the resident yokozuna here at Sumonix. I’m the guardian of this wonderful new website and I’ve been training hard to ensure that you – the discerning gamer – can visit my dojo of gaming goodness and come away feeling fulfilled. That reminds me, would you like some onigiri to eat? No? OK, more for me then.

I guess you’re wondering why I stepped out of the ring and decided to look after this domain, right? First of all, my dietary requirements haven’t changed at all, which was very important in my decision. But more to the point, I truly love video games – so much so that I sometimes mistake them for food and end up chewing through my game collection when I’m feeling particularly peckish. 糞!

As a video game enthusiast, I’m always on the look out for the latest news, opinion and reviews, so when the guys at Sumonix asked me to step in, I really couldn’t refuse. Unfortunately I had no idea that porting over nearly four years of content would take so much work. Honestly, I think I may have lost some weight!

Shu Parallax

Oh, that’s right, I better explain! You see, Sumonix is a brand new website, but it features content spanning nearly four years of work from our dedicated team. Since 2011, the team has toiled away under the previous alias of Awesome Games. However, due to a few technical complications and the desire to have a brand that better represented their vision, they decided to take the brave step and completely rebranded from the ground up. Talk about committed, huh?

The good news is that the Sumonix dojo is already full of expertly crafted reviews, thought-provoking features, and a healthy side-order of retro related content for you to read. There’s also a cracking podcast and YouTube channel here at Sumonix, so don’t miss out! I have to say, the dojo’s bamboo walls are basically bending in half ‘cause of all the content!

So, if you’re looking for a more honest alternative to the big boys in the industry, then this is the place for you. Hopefully, with your help, Sumonix can begin to push the competition around and make a sumo-sized splash!

I hope you enjoy your stay at the Sumonix dojo and that you come back and visit us regularly. Please remember to tell your friends about our humble website and we hope to hear from you in the comments section and over at the Sumonix forum. Trust me, the guys at Sumonix are a very chatty bunch!

Now, where did I put that roast chicken leg…
