Nintendo has released the launch trailer for Fox McCloud’s new game, Star Fox Zero.

Available on Wii U from this week, the game sees ace anthropomorphic pilot Fox McCloud assembling a team to take on Andross, a primate intent on ruling the galaxy.

The video also shows off the numerous transforming vehicles you’ll be able to use in your battle along with giving us a look at how the Wii U’s GamePad will be used throughout the game.

Nintendo is planning to mark the launch of Star Fox Zero by releasing a new Star Fox animated short called The Battle Begins, which will be streamed in full on Wednesday, April 20, at 3 PM PST through Nintendo’s website.

The game will be released on April 21 in Japan and April 22 in Europe and North America. It’s currently listed by most online retailers for around £35.

The launch of Star Fox Zero also ties in with the release of Star Fox Guard. In Star Fox Guard, the player is tasked with controlling an array of cameras to protect Grippy Toad’s, Slippy’s uncle, precious metal mining site.
