Oh, You’re My Best Friend, In A Goal We Must Defend
When Japan touch down in Brazil, it looks like they’ll be accompanied by their very own team of Pokémon.
Adidas, who designed the Japanese national team kit for this year’s tournament in Brazil, have announced that Pikachu, the iconic face of the Pokémon franchise, will be backing up the ‘Samurai Blue’ as their official mascot for their World Cup campaign.
According to Soccerly, Pikachu will also be joined by some other familiar faces, including Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Chespin, amongst many others.
This news came after Adidas confirmed their partnership with Nintendo earlier this week.
