Save File Restrictions Cited As Reason
The PS4 version of Minecraft will not feature infinitely generating worlds, unlike its PC predecessor.
4J Studios, the developer responsible for the ports, says the limitation is due to restrictions on the size of save files on consoles.
Despite the lack of infinitely spawning worlds, the studio confirmed on Twitter that the maps will be “a lot bigger” than on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
The studio also confirmed during the same Twitter conversation that the PS4 edition will support the controller’s touchpad user interface navigation.
The game will be released for PS4, Xbox One and Vita later this year.
