Jump Into Bungie’s New World

The beta for Bungie’s upcoming shooter, Destiny, begins today for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners who have pre-ordered the game.

The beta will feature 5 modes: the Tower, a third person social space; the Crucible, where Destiny’s competitive multiplayer takes place; Strike, where you form a fireteam and infiltrate an enemy stronghold; Explore, Destiny’s free-roam mode; and finally, Story, which is pretty self-explanatory.

Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait slightly longer for the Destiny beta to arrive when it hits Microsoft’s consoles on July 24.

Bungie has recently revealed to IGN that the Xbox One beta of Destiny will not be running at 1080p, unlike its PS4 counterpart; however, Bungie’s Community Manager ensured that the game would launch at 1080p, stating: ‘there’s always time for improvement.’

Destiny will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 on September 9, 2014.
